Green Township Fire Department

Green Township Fire Department is located on Moore’s Landing Road near M-65 South. 

Green Township Fire Department provides fire protection and medical first responder services to Green Township residents and also covers part of Ossineke Township’s area. Green Township also provides mutual aid to all neighboring fire departments.

Equipment being used is as follows:

  • a 2020 Pierce Engine 1000 gallon pumper.
  • a 2007 Pierce Tanker 3000 gallon pumpter/tanker.
  • a 2018 Ford F-450 Rescue vehicle holds our medical equipment and our extrication equipment
    (Jaws of Life). It is also used to haul the Airboat.
  • 18 ft Airboat used for water and ice rescue.
  • a 2017 Ford F-350 grass rig/brush truck – used for wildland fires. Equipped with water, foam,
    indian packs, shovels, rakes and saws. Can also be used to haul the Airboat
  • Rescue Trailer equipped with Ice Rescue equipment, mustang suits, ropes, and sled.

A memorial garden and wall were started in 2004 to remember the fire personnel that served the
township.

Longest serving member of the department was Herb Gamage who served from 1973 until 2022 for 49 years. He is still currently serving on the Green Township Board as a Trustee in 2024.
